Mobile Applications Liberating Healthcare

Mobile Applications Liberating HealthcareThis all started with a simple question – How can a clinician keep track of clinical queries arising at the point of care of a specific patient? An online clinical tool proficient to document, organize, share clinical experiences and insights was required in this ‘learn-as-you go’ era. The answer was – Clinical Pearl.

Similar to the MySearch search engine and PubMed, Clinical Pearl is also the Brainchild of Dr. Izhar-ul-Hasan. He has been a practicing physician in New Jersey for 5 years. It was his belief in joint encounters and combined problem solving that led all these traits being implemented for medical practitioners.

Dr. Izhar along with the Ephlux Team set out to make ‘Clinical Pearl’ an interface independent reality. “Clinical Pearl allows Doctors, Physicians, Surgeons and other individuals related to the Medical Science to add, consolidate and share their experiences along with getting assistance from others’ accomplishments.” Dr. Izhar said.

The whole application has been extended to The Blackberry and The iPhone. It’s Android and Windows Mobile versions are currently in development. The crux of the endeavor was to free medical practitioners from the shackles of their workspace/workstations. Using the created apps, meds would be able to contribute, document, share and read pearls freely, no matter where they are.

“It is not something like an open forum. There is a team of highly learned professionals who are constantly viewing and sorting out information, depending on validation and authentication. We don’t want anything erroneous going up at CP. It’s a medical Practitioners reference manual - its serious business” He added.

This application targets the US healthcare Industry, initially. However, it’s going to spread its arms in Europe, Australia, Middle East and South Asia in the future. It will also initiate partnerships with educational institutions across the US wherein CP will be licensed to the institutions and the student bodies shall use it as a medical documentation repository. This would also allow medical school students to have access to documentation compiled by doctors and physicians all around the world, along with contributing their own reports and researches.

With Dr. Izhar at its helm, Clinical Pearl was concocted by a professional development team at Ephlux. They exerted their professional skills and efforts to make a platform that will help lead medical research towards unification, authenticity and the ‘free-knowledge’ concept.

When asked about his experience of outsourcing to Ephlux, he added “This is a team of enthusiasts who exceed your expectations; Ephlux knows exactly what they are doing. My interaction with them was refreshing – and has redefined my perception of conventional outsourcing”.
